Another method of building basements is to construct a contiguous piled wall prior to carrying out the excavation works. This method is beneficial if ground conditions make it difficult to construct standard retaining walls or you have an open site to work on. This project used contiguous piles, which were connected with a capping beam at the top. The basement was then excavated and a reinforced concrete lining wall constructed to finish the structure.
