Project Details:
This image shows the excavation of the back garden of a large property in London. Once the basement was completed, a concrete slab was laid and the garden reconstructed on top of it. The project also involved constructing a basement under the house and was over 300 Sqm in total.
We had to construct a secant piled wall prior to the excavation, due to groundwater being present. The secant piles were lapped together, soft female piles were constructed first, and then hard male piles constructed between them. This formed a barrier around the basement perimeter, enabling the excavations to be carried out without water ingress.
